Position Overview
We are in search of a highly motivated Business Development Manager to play a crucial "hunter" sales role within our growing team. This position is designed for an individual who thrives in finding and engaging new customers, identifying sales opportunities, and closing deals to expand our market footprint. The ideal candidate will have proven successes in surpassing sales targets through strategic prospecting and a deep understanding of the EMS industry.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities/prospective customers in targeted markets and sectors within the EMS space
- Analyze and understand customer business strategies, future product plans, and expansion activities to cultivate and capture new business
- Establish goals and budgets to increase market share and profitability for products and/or services
- Achieve dynamic revenue growth through existing products and new product development efforts
- Negotiate contracts and close deals with new and existing customers
- Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure client requirements are met with high-quality standards and timely delivery
- Develop RFQ analysis in collaboration with Key Account Managers and/or Planners
- Present formal proposals and presentations to customers
- Create pricing strategies and contracts in ways that are more creative than simply cost plus
- Execute growth strategy, pipeline development, and management for existing accounts
- Facilitate meetings regarding accounts with customers and with internal team members
- Monitor, forecast, and report on spending trends and budgets, newly developing markets, opportunities, and major programs/platforms
Required Skills & Abilities
- Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer
- Confident demeanor with excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge of the EMS industry and market trends
- Proven strategic planning experience
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong Microsoft Office (including Excel) skills
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 3 years business development in Medical and Defense industries
- Experience in high-tech applications, communications, industrial, medical, military, alternate energy market segments
- Highly motivated with entrepreneurial attitude and outlook, strong work ethic with high level of integrity
What We Offer
- The anticipated salary range is $85,000-$125,000 plus commission. The provided salary range represents a broad spectrum and may not encompass every individual's compensation package. Final salary offers are determined by various factors including a comprehensive assessment of the candidate's qualifications, experience, market considerations, and alignment with our organization's needs.
